Clark Proffitt Attorney – Intellectual Property & Business Law

Clark brings nearly two decades of expertise in intellectual property and business law to Ten7 Consulting. A founding partner of Accelerate IP LLC since 2017, he helps inventors, startups, and small businesses develop robust IP strategies from patent and trademark filings to copyrights, trade secrets, entity formation, and licensing.

He earned a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University in 2005, graduating magna cum laude from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law in 2008. While in law school, Clark passed the USPTO registration exam and served as a Center Scholar at ASU’s Center for Law, Science & Technology. He's admitted to practice before the USPTO, Arizona state courts, the Federal Circuit, and the Ninth Circuit.

Clark has handled IP matters ranging from prosecution and litigation to transactional work. Notably, he played a lead role in a Ninth Circuit case that reshaped the standard for attorneys’ fees in trademark infringement suits.

An entrepreneur and educator, Clark also serves as an adjunct professor teaching contract drafting at the University of Arizona’s Rogers College of Law . His professional experience includes positions at Raytheon, Hayes Soloway PC, and a fellowship at ASU Law.

Clark’s passion for innovation extends to helping shape vibrant IP communities. He shares insights regularly via Accelerate IP’s blog on topics like patent basics, copyright updates, and trademark trends.

Outside the office, Clark lives in Tucson with his wife Margaret, their four children (Booker, Ike, Asher, and Miriam), two dogs (Minty and Rosie), two tortoises (Fezzik and Buttercup), and a small grove of trees.
